V. OPERATION
CHECK PRODUCT CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING AND USING IT
!
5.1- Intended use
- The chain hoist is a lifting equipment intended solely for vertical lifting loads.
- The chain hoist should only be used for this type of application.
- Any other application is considered as non-compliant
- The user/operator is solely responsible for damage or injury caused during the use of the product.
- The manufacturer/dealer declines any responsibility for the use of the product.
- The product is not intended for professional, artisanal and/or industrial applications or any other
equivalent activity..
5.2- Before use:
The best way to get acquainted with how the chain hoist operates is to carry out a few test runs before
you actually need to use it.
5.3- Operation:
The chain hoist is operated by means of a hand chain which is pulled by the operator to lift or lower
the load.
The operator/use should stand on the side of the load with the block casing facing towards him.
To lift or lower the load, proceed as follows:
- To lift: pull the right hand chain.
- To lower: pull the left hand chain.
It is not recommended to pull the hand chain at high speed as this will lead to an uneven movement of
the load. It is recommended to pull the hand chain in a steady movement to prevent any unnecessary
jerking of the load.
5.4- Precautions
- Delimit the lifting area and prevent access to it to any person not directly involved in the work.
NEVER allow anyone to enter the lifting area and to stand under a suspended load.
- Evacuate bystanders from the immediate lifting area.
- Clearly communicate when the lifting starts and finishes.
- During lifting operation, the operator should keep constant eye contact with the load. Should this
become impossible, then another person with full view of the operating area and direct view to the
load should guide the operator so as to avoid any hazard.
- Raise and lower the load smoothly. Do not change from lifting to lowering operation rapidly. Allow
the load to come to standstill before changing direction.
- If the product is unable to lift the load, immediately stop, as the max load capacity has been
exceeded.
- Never leave a suspended load unattended.
If you are not sure about the safe use of the product, then refrain from using it.
