WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

RESET/CALIBRATION PUSH-BUTTON

The RESET push-button makes it possible to initialize the detector and automatically acquire
the parameters of the loop connected for correct functioning.

N.B.

Making sure that there is no metallic mass on the loops, press the RESET push-button
to carry out an automatic calibration of the detector.

The RESET push-button must be pressed each time the position of one more dip-switches
is varied.

LED (Fig. 4)
- RED LED PRESENCE OF POWER SUPPLY

This LED remains always ON when the power supply is present.

- RED LED STATE  OF TESTING OF THE LOOP CHANNEL 1

This LED comes ON when there is a vehicle on the loop or when the Loop is defective.
This LED can also be used to establish the frequency of the loop. When doing the reset
(RESET), count the number of times that the LED blinks. Multiply this number for 10KHz.
For instance: if LED blinks 6 times, then the frequency is in between 60KHz and 70KHz.

- RED LED DEFECTIVE STATE OF LOOP CHANNEL 1

This LED comes ON when the circle of the loop is open or when there is a short circuit,
and it is used to signal when the loop is defective.

- RED LED STATE  OF TESTING OF THE LOOP CHANNEL 2

This LED comes ON when there is a vehicle on the loop or when the Loop is defective.
This LED can also be used to establish the frequency of the loop. When doing the reset
(RESET), count the number of times that the LED blinks. Multiply this number for 10KHz.
For instance: if LED blinks 6 times, then the frequency is in between 60KHz and 70KHz.

- RED LED DEFECTIVE STATE OF LOOP CHANNEL 2

This LED comes ON when the circle of the loop is open or when there is a short circuit,
and it is used to signal when the loop is defective.

SETTING AT WORK

Realize the connections for the undecal socket as shown in Fig. 4 and subsequently insert
the detector as shown in the same figure.

Set up the frequency through the dip-switch 6 as shown in TABLE 1. The change of
frequency is mainly useful to avoid interference between two near loops (2-3 m); in this
last case it is necessary to set up different frequencies. As a general rule the frequency
must be low for large loop and high for small loop.

In most cases, it is recommended

that the frequency is set on the LOW value (DIP 6 ON).

Set up the sensitivity through the dip-switches 7-8-9 as shown in TABLE 1. Setting the
sensitivity allow to forbid the detection of metallic body with little dimensions such as
bicycle and motorcycle.

-

Use of the sensor only for the impulsive command

Set the DIP-switch 2 in OFF and the DIP 3 in ON to have an impulsive command at the

exit 2 and when the loop 2 is engaged.

Set the DIP-switch 4 in OFF and the DIP 5 in ON to have an impulsive command at the

exit 1 and when the loop 1 is engaged.

If the DIP 1 is in OFF,  the time for the impulse lasts 0,2 seconds, if the DIP 1 is in ON,

then the time of the impulse lasts for 1 second.

-   Use of the sensor only with presence of vehicle

Set the DIPs 2-3 in OFF for channel 2 and the DIPs 4-5 in OFF for channel 1, the

correspondent exits will remain permanently activated until the vehicles is not leaving the
perimeter of the loop.

When setting the DIP 10 in ON, there will be a 2 second delay in the switching off of the

exits.

Be sure that there is no metallic mass on the loop, and press the RESET push-button to
carry out an automatic calibration of the detector.

Carry out sensitivity tests with the various types of vehicles that the device must detect.
If necessary, vary the setting of dip-switches 7-8-9 until the desired sensitivity level is
obtained.

In most cases, it is recommended that the sensitivity is set on the LOW value (DIP
6 ON).

If necessary, set the function “SENSITIVITY AMPLIFIER” by using the dip-switch 5.

FEATURE OF DIRECTION
DIP 2-4-5 in ON

This function allows to have an
impulse on the exit of channel 1 for a
vehicle driving across loop 1 and after
across loop 2.

DIP 2-3-4 in ON

This function allows to have an
impulse on the exit of channel 2 for a
vehicle driving across loop 2 and after
across loop 1.

COMMAND AFTER DISENGAGING THE LOOP

DIP 2-3 in ON =>   there will be an impulse on exit channel 2 after disengaging loop 2.
DIP 4-5 in ON =>   there will be an impulse on exit channel 1 after disengaging loop 1.
DIP 10 in ON =>

there will be a 2 second delay of the impulse for the exits.

Attention: It is possible to change the status of the contact of the exits from N.O.
(normally open) to N.C. (normally closed). To carry out this modification, the jumper-
bridges near the relays, inside the magnetic detector must be set differently. To do
that open the magnetic detector and remove the pcboard.
