UPLOADING A FILE
TO THE
. . . . . . . . .
LINX SWITCHER
Use the following procedure to upload a file containing exported
settings, EDID parameters, or a firmware upgrade file.
1.
From the PC
Start
menu at the bottom of the Windows desktop
select
Run
...
2.
In the
Run
dialog box type
cmd
as shown in
Figure 5-1
.

Press
ENTER
or click
OK
to open the command window.
Figure 5-4
illustrates the following steps.
4.
Change to the PC directory containing the file to be uploaded. In
the figure below, the directory
linx
is selected.
5.
Type
dir
and press
ENTER
to verify the desired file is present.
6.
At the prompt, type
ftp
followed by the IP address and press
ENTER
. In the example below the IP address is
192.168.1.220
.
7.
When prompted for a user name enter
rgb
in lowercase and
press
ENTER
.
8.
Enter the password
spectrum
in lowercase and press
ENTER
.
9.
Type
put <filename.xxx>
and press
ENTER
. In this example
firmware file
presets.txt
is being uploaded.
10.
Type
ls
and press
ENTER
to list the files in the
Linx Switcher
.
The uploaded file will be displayed.
11.
Type
bye
and press
ENTER
to disconnect from the
Linx
Switcher
.
12.
Type
exit
and press
ENTER
to close the command window.
