4. Remove tape untie Mooring Line from inside loop patch on vacuum bag. (See Detail A)
5. Untie survival equipment pack, and place it aside for further inspection. (See Chapter 6,
Inspection and Chapter 8, Assembly for further instructions on the equipment packs)
6. When unpacking a raft from a valise ONLY, cut the nylon cord (IPL Fig. 1, Item 240) holding the
D-rings together and remove the burst straps (IPL Fig. 1, Items 250-260A) from around the raft.
7. Unfold it and lay it out flat with canopy on the top. (See Fig. 5)
8. Using a wrench, disconnect the cylinder inflation valve from both valve inlet checks. Ensure that
the inflation valve pull cable loop does not become caught on any projections as this may cause
the liferaft to inflate and cause possible injuries. Un-strap the cylinder holder on the buoyancy
tube and remove the cylinder. (See Fig. 6)
9. Once the cylinder is disconnected from the raft, screw diffuser caps to outlets. Replace vacuum
retainer and washer onto inflation valve.
Warning: The charged gas cylinder can become a lethal projectile if discharged to
atmosphere when not fitted with a cap. Always fit a diffuser cap to a
cylinder valve outlet when handling a fully charged cylinder.
Warning: Do not attempt to dismantle the CO
2
cylinder until it has been completely
discharged.
10.
Securely place cylinder to side for testing. (See Section 4 Testing)
11. Remove other items of equipment if necessary.
