4.1 Unpacking, Lifting, and Placing LabRAM I
Upon receipt of the LabRAM I, do not unpack or remove any packaging materials until the
carton has been positioned as close to the installation location as possible. When in position,
remove all wrapping and strapping, and file shipping paperwork for your records.
Retain all packaging material for at least one year in case mixer transportation or shipment for
factory service is necessary. Original packaging is required for service shipment during the
warranty period and is highly recommended for any shipment performed during the life of the
product.
•
Open the top of the box and remove any packing materials, bubble wrap, or other items.
When all packaging material is removed, slide the packaging box/sleeve up and over the
LabRAM I. The LabRAM I should be the only remaining item, resting on cushioning bags
in a corrugated tray on the shipping pallet.
•
Make sure to remove any loose packaging material from the area, and check for tripping
hazards before attempting to move or install the LabRAM I.
•
With a minimum of four people lifting at all four lifting locations, and using appropriate
safe lifting practices, lift the LabRAM I straight up and carry to its installation location.
See Section 1.8 Handling/Lifting on the previous page for lifting locations.
•
When placing the LabRAM I
at its location, allow enough room around the machine to
complete the installation, route wires and tubing, and allow for working space, etc.
The LabRAM I mixer weighs 180 lb. (82 kg) with no vessel holder
or additional options. For safe lifting and transporting of the mixer, it
should be lifted by at least four (4) people via the handles and lift
points on each side as shown in Section 1.8 Handling/Lifting on the
previous page.
