INTRODUCTION
Your car is fitted with an original protection system against intrusion attempts.
It is controlled via a remote control / badge / “hands-free” badge.
This device ensures complete protection against intrusion attempts via:
1.
perimetric protection (protection of the doors, bonnet and boot).
2.
volumetric protection of the passenger compartment using ultrasound
and/or hyperfrequency module (according to the type of system).
3.
connection wiring protection (anti-sabotage).
4.
protection against engine start-up attempts.
5.
anti-lifting protection (option, ref. 77 11424 116) protection against attempt
of theft of tyres/rims and vehicle removal.
ALARM ARMING
When you lock your car door with your remote control or in «hands-free»
mode (according to car model), the direction indicators will flash twice. The
car alarm is armed 30 s later.
Check that the windows and sunroof are closed in order to prevent false
alarms.
- In vehicles fitted only with a hyperfrequency module, for the volumetric
protection (e.g.: cabriolet), the windows/roof can stay opened and the
protection remains armed. For greater protection, though, we suggest you
close them.
In vehicles fitted with an additional door locking system, the protection
device starts operating simultaneously with the first locking and remains
armed for the whole time the doors stay locked.
NOTE 1
- if a door (doors / boot) is open or incorrectly closed
- if a badge is inserted in the reader (according to system)
- if a «hands-free» badge is left in the passenger compartment (according
to system) vehicle locking and protection system arming do not occur
(locking and immediate unlocking without flashing of direction indicators).
-If the engine compartment bonnet is open or incorrectly closed, locking
does occur and the central alarm unit is armed. The protection system will
signal, with a continuous sound (buzzer for 30 s), that the engine compartment
bonnet is incorrectly closed. Close it properly to silence the buzzer and to
allow the system to include the engine compartment in its protected area.
NOTE 2
Special cases of vehicles without open door/hood detection
device (door locking with flashing of direction indicators when a door is
open):
- If you forget to close a door, vehicle locking occurs and the central alarm
unit is armed. Then the protection system signals, via a continuous sound
(buzzer for 30 s), that a door is not closed correctly. In this case, close the
door properly to silence the buzzer and to allow the system to include this
door in its protected area.
User’s manual
NOTE 3
According to vehicle model (e.g.: Kangoo Be Bop), when the vehicle is
locked and the hood’s window is opened by using the original remote
control, the volumetric protection is automatically disarmed.
During the first 30 s after activation, you can check for perimetric
protection without disarming the alarm: the opening of a door is signalled
by continuous beeping (buzzer).
If the door is not closed, the perimetric protection is ignored until the
door is closed.
ALARM DISARMING
By opening the doors using the remote control / or in the «hands-free»
mode, the protection system is disarmed and the direction indicators flash
once.
NOTE
During disarming, if the alarm has been triggered, the direction
indicators will flash four times and the buzzer will beep four times.
PROTECTION
When the protection system is armed (30 s after closing the doors), the
opening of the bonnet, of the boot, of one of the doors or an intruder
attempt on the car (e.g.: breaking of a window) will trigger an approx. 33 s
alarm cycle:
- buzzer (for 28 s, followed by a 5 s pause);
- visual alarm via direction indicators (for all cycles, and extended for 2
min. after the last cycle).
The cycle is repeated maximum 9 times for each function that triggers the
alarm. At the end of a cycle, lacking new intruder attempts, the alarm stops
and the central alarm unit remains in active stand-by until it is disarmed.
PARTIAL DISARMING OF THE PROTECTIION SYSTEM
1.
Exclusion of the volumetric protection (via ultrasound or hyperfrequency
module):
- during a storm;
- when washing the car;
- when a pet is to be left in the car;
- when you wish to leave the windows and/or sunroof open (except with
hyperfrequency module protection, e.g.: cabriolet).
To disarm the volumetric protection:
- turn the instrument panel on and off twice quickly;
- lock the vehicle (exclusion confirmed by 3 beeps of the buzzer).
