g) Practical Flight Advice for the First Start
• Even if the model can fly in the narrowest spaces, for the first test flights, we recommend using a free space of about
3 x 3 m.
• The support should be flat (tiles, parquet flooring, or similar) to allow you to determine even before take-off if the
model tends to drift off in a particular direction.
• Place yourself exactly behind your helicopter. As long as you can see your model from behind, it will react to the
control commands: right, left, forward, backward exactly as you see it. Whereas, if the cockpit of the model points
towards you, it reacts exactly the opposite way from your steering commands at the transmitter.
Attention, important!
If the rotors hit any objects and are blocked or if the model falls over when standing, slide the pitch stick
(also see figure 1 item 8) into the bottom-most position at once so that the two drive motors are no longer
supplied with power.
h) Trimming the Helicopter
First start the transmitter, then the model.
Push the pitch stick (also see figure 1, item 8) from the bottom position (engine off) carefully forward and observe the
response of your model. Shortly before the helicopter starts hovering, you can already determine in which direction
your model wants to move.
Tail trim:
If the helicopter wants to turn to the right with the tip of the fuselage, reduce the speed until the helicopter is standing
on its skids again safety, and then push the left of the two trim buttons for the tail function (also see figure 1, item 7)
repeatedly.
The transmitter emits a short confirmation tone at each push of a button. Trimming reacts very sensitively.
Therefore, the button must be pressed repeatedly until a clear change of the helicopter’s flight behaviour
is noticeable.
Push the pitch lever carefully forward and check if the adjustment was sufficient. Keep repeating this procedure until
the helicopter no longer has any tendency to turn to the right. If the Tipp of the fuselage turns to the left, press the right
trim button for the tail function.
