13. Troubleshooting
Even though the model and the remote control system were built to the latest available technology, there can still be
malfunctions or faults. This is why we would like to show you how to remove some possible faults.
Problem
The model doesn’t respond
The engine does not start.
The engine runs in the wrong direction.
Helicopter does not lift off the ground.
Helicopter shakes/rattles in flight.
Tail responds incorrectly.
Remedy
• Check the model battery
• Check marking on crystals.
• Carry out crystal change on a different channel.
• Check cabling.
• Check plug connection to the speed controller.
• Check speed controller.
• Check mechanics and transmission.
• Slide the gas / pitch lever to the bottom position (motor off) and also
slide the trim slider for the pitch function into the bottom position.
Then connect the rechargeable battery and check the function of
the helicopter.
• Exchange two of the three motor power connections with each other.
• Check the model battery
• Check pitch settings.
• Check mechanics for easy/smooth running.
• Check the mechanics for function.
• Rotor blades too tight or too loose.
• Rotor blades not balanced.
• Rotor shafts or bearing shaft bent due to previous ground contact.
• Head rotation speed too low.
• Paddle not mounted symmetrically or unbalanced.
• Rotor blades defective
• Remove then replace the flight battery so the gyro can perform
another balancing run.
• Check gyro sensitivity on the transmitter.
• Check tail servo and tail control.
• Check tail rotor mechanics and toothed belts.
