45. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Problem Possible causes Remedy
Impossible to light
burner (with igniter or
match)
The burners do not
produce enough heat
• The burner openings are blocked • Clear the blockages
• Gas cylinder valve is not open • Open gas cylinder valve
• Burners are not fitted properly to
barbecue valves
• Make sure barbecue burners are
fitted to valves
• Burner air inlet is blocked • Clean or replace burner
• Cylinder is empty or almost
empty
• Replace with new cylinder
• Regulator is not fitted properly to
cylinder
• Gas supply is blocked
• Check regulator connection to
cylinder
• Straighten gas hose
Yellow, smoky flame
• Burner air inlet openings are
blocked
• Clear the blockages
• Lots of salt or marinade on
burner surfaces
• Clean burners
Burner can be lit with
match, but not with
igniter
• Poor conductor contact • Check all connections for
tightness
• Defective igniter or electrode
• Poor grounding
• Make sure the burner and igniter
are installed correctly
• Defective igniter • Replace igniter
Flame goes out
• Windy weather • Move barbecue away from wind
• Cylinder almost empty • Replace cylinder
Excessive heat

Incomplete flame
• The flame is visibly yellow • Clean or replace burner and check
for burner blockages
The flame is too big
• You are using the wrong type of
pressure regulator.
• Replace with 30 mbar pressure
regulator
