Power supply
The battery pack includes 4 NiMH Mignon (AA) cells with 1,500 mAh. A temperature sensor monitors the battery
temperature during the charging process. A bimetal circuit-breaker is integrated to protect against short circuits
and overheating.
The battery is connected with a 7 pin connector through the window in the battery compartment. The battery
charging voltage is connected through the polarity protected socket. The plug-in power supply for charging is part
of the supplied set. It has a connection cable with the matching connector plug attached. A fully charged
1,500mAh battery will print up to app. 50 m of thermal paper with normal text.
Rechargeable batteries require at least 3 complete charging and discharging cycles in order to reach their full
capacity. Incomplete charging and discharging cycles during operation will reduce the lifetime of the battery.
Sleep Mode
The printer allows within the menu to set a timer. After the time has passed by, the printer switches into the sleep
mode. The printer is switched on again if data is sent, the power supply is attached or if the key FEED/Enter is
pressed. The printer keeps the configuration. The printer buffer is deleted.
It is possible to enable or to disable the sleep mode option by printer setup.
Power Off
If the OFF/NEXT key is pressed for 3 seconds or more the printer is switched off completely. The printer is
switched on if the FEED/ENTER key is pressed or if the power supply is connected to the printer.
Charging of the batteries
The printer incorporates an intelligent battery charging circuit. This circuit does not have a current limiter. The
current limitation is ensured by the supplied power supply. Another power supply with more power may therefore
destroy the printer.
