Analog Output Option

The optional 16 bit 4-20mA Analog Output Board transmits each channel’s output, and is scaled from 4mA
for 0% readings and 20mA for 100% readings.  Loop drive capability depends upon the level of the
ViewSmart 1600+’s primary DC power supply. With at least 20 volts DC primary power they are capable
of driving 20mA through a 750 ohm load. Outputs are self-powered, and DC power should not be provided
by the receiving device. Each board has 8 channels, two are required for 16 channel applications.

Terminals for the Analog Outputs are found on TB1 for channels 1/9, 3/11, 5/13, 7/15 and TB2 for channels
2/10, 4/12, 6/14, 8/16 (channels depend on the channel group assigned to the board).

The analog output board has a failure detection circuit. If the output board’s processor fails, or if
communication is lost with the CPU board, then the outputs of all channels go to 0mA.
