2.5.5 TMU Antennas
Each TMU
needs
three “Shark ‐ Fin” roof antennas mounted on the roof of the locomotive
as close as possible to the TMU:

Whatever mounting arrangement is adopted:
• The antennas should be mounted as close to the TMU as possible.
• Try to minimize obstructions between the antennas and the front of the train such as
air ‐ conditioner units, electronic route number display boxes and the like.
