9 Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization

9.1 Cleaning Instructions

Cleaning:

❖

Make sure to unplug the main power supply before cleaning

❖

Use a slightly moistened lint free soft cloth material. Do not soak in cleaning fluids as liquid ingress

into unit may result in damage of the electronics. A mild detergent is permissible.

❖

Wipe down the system with a dry, lint free cloth.

❖

Wipe off water drops immediately

Disinfection:

❖

Wipe the QUEST SPECTRUM

®

3

❖

with a soft and lint free cloth moisturized with 70% IPA solution.

External housing materials of the device are powder coated or anodized aluminum.

9.2 Sterilization

Laparoscopes and their Lighting Cables are compatible with conventional sterilization methods. The
operating facility is responsible for the sterility of the Laparoscopes and Optical Fiber Cables.

For cleaning and sterilization of your Laparoscope and Optical Fiber Cables, see its Instructions for Use.

CAUTION:

Do not sterilize the Lens with Ring Light.

9.3 Maintenance

The QUEST SPECTRUM

®

3 does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Annual preventive inspection

or maintenance is required.

Refer all repairs, maintenance, or service work to the Quest Medical Imaging.
