Two exceptions are the playback screens for the first and last items in the
group: you cannot press up to go from the first item to the last, or press down
to go from the last item to the first.
Another exception is when you have zoomed the display during video or
image playback. When the picture is zoomed, the arrow buttons only move the
viewframe.
End playback and leave the playback screen
with the stop button or
Return
.
The stop button and
Return
always end playback and take you back.
When a video or still image is playing and is not zoomed in, the left arrow
button also stops playback and takes you back. When the picture is enlarged
(even if it does not exceed screen size), the left arrow button shifts the
viewframe leftward.
During audio playback, the left arrow button takes you back but leaves the
piece or sequence playing as background music.
When watching a video, you can —
Suspend and resume playback
with the play/pause button.
Change playback speed and direction
with the slow backward, slow
forward, fast backward, and fast forward buttons.
Each press of one of these buttons halves or doubles the playback speed until
you get to 1/8 or 8 times normal speed; the next press of the same button (or
pressing play/pause) brings the speed back to normal.
The speed/direction indicator remains in the top left corner of the screen for as
long as playback remains above or below normal speed.
There can be a delay of several seconds before a speed/direction button takes
effect. This is because many frames are already “in the pipeline” from the
media server to the media adapter.
•
To return to normal speed and direction
, press the play/pause
button.
Speed/direction buttons have absolute, not relative, results: if you’ve
pressed fast forward once, pressing fast backward or slow forward will
not cancel it but give you fast backward or slow forward.
Set the video to play again and again
by pressing
Repeat 1/All
.
Watch the top left corner of the screen and press
Repeat 1/All
until the
“repeat one” or “repeat all” symbol appears. Which of these appears matters
only if playback was started with
Play All
.
•
To set the video to stop repeating
, watch the top left corner of the
screen and press
Repeat 1/All
until the “no repeat” symbol appears.
