3. Click Apply.
You can see the effect of the new setting immediately if your TV or projector is
connected to the media adapter and turned on.
A success message and a
Continue
button will appear in the browser
window. Click
Continue
to go on.
Almost everything else in the Web-based setup utility is a duplicate of a function
provided in the media adapter’s setup wizard and
Setup
screen. Functions that are
unique to the Web-based setup utility are described below.
The
Administrator
panel lets you change the user name, and set a password,
for access to the utility. The user name and password that you set will have to
be typed at the prompt that appears when the utility starts up.
Note that after you click
Apply
in the
Administrator
panel, it may take several
minutes for the settings to take effect on the media adapter.
In the
Network
panel, you can —
•
set a host name and domain name for the media adapter (this is useful
only if you are running a name server on which you can register the
names);
•
renew the media adapter’s DHCP-assigned IP settings (that is, make it
re-request IP settings from the DHCP server);
•
set up to three DNS server addresses (the additional addresses will be
used as backups if the first server is unavailable).
In the
Wireless
panel, you can input encryption keys in either ASCII or
hexadecimal format. Alternatively, you can enter a passphrase and click
Generate
to create properly formatted hexadecimal keys automatically.
An encryption key in “hex” format can contain only hexadecimal digits. These
are the numerals 0 through 9 and the letters
A
through
F
(the case of any
letters does not matter). A 64-bit key in hex format is 10 hex digits long; a 128-
bit key in hex format is 26 hex digits long.
In the
System
panel, you can switch the media adapter’s non-HDTV video
outputs between NTSC and PAL signal formats.
You can use the
Firmware Upgrade
panel to load new firmware code into the
media adapter.
Anyway please strictly follow the separate instructions (if these are different)
that come with a firmware upgrade image file, because these may need other
procedure, tools or switches to perform correctly depending on the changes in
the firmware itself.
Check with your networking equipment supplier to see if new firmware code is
available for the media adapter. Such code is supplied in the form of an
“image” file. Browse to the file or type its full path and name into the
Please
select a file to upgrade
box, and then click
Upgrade
.
After sending the file to the media adapter, do not turn off or reset the media
adapter until its power indicator stops flashing. This can take quite a few
minutes.
