Step 4. 

Replace drag roller in reverse order of removal.

7-24 Drive Roller

Note: Removal of the drive roller or drive roller left bearing requires the front panel and
main bulkhead to be removed.

Step 1. 

Remove the front panel. Refer to step 7-1.C.

Step 2. 

Remove the main bulkhead.

Step 3. 

Remove the rear access panel. Refer to 7-1.

Step 4. 

Loosen the spur gear clamp and remove the spur gear from the right side of the 
drive roller shaft.

Step 5. 

Remove two pan head screws, bearing, flat washer, and spring washer from the 
right side of the drive roller shaft.

Step 6. 

Remove the two pan head screws, bearing, and flat washer from the left side of 
the drive roller shaft.

Step 7. 

Remove the drive roller.

Step 8. 

Replace drive roller in reverse order of removal.

7-25 Knife Motor Assembly
Step 1. 

Open the take-up cassette and supply cassette doors.

Step 2. 

Remove the rear access cover. Refer to 7-1.

Step 3. 

Disconnect the knife motor cable from the main harness.

Step 4. 

Slide the knife carriage to the left side of the lead screw.

Step 5. 

Loosen the two set screws which secure the lead screw to the knife motor shaft. 

Step 6. 

Remove the three (or four) knife motor mounting screws. Note the location of the 
screws if only three mounting screws are used.

Step 7. 

Pull apart the knife motor shaft from the knife carriage lead screw.

Step 8. 

Remove the knife motor.

Step 9. 

Replace knife motor in reverse order of removal. Note that one of the worm shaft 
set screws is secured to the flat of the knife motor shaft.
