Section 5

Installation

DANGER: Laser radiation is present when the recorder optics or supply cassette cover
is open with the safety switches defeated. Avoid direct exposure to beam.

Note: Maintain all Anti-Static procedures for PC boards while performing the installation
procedure.

5-1 Bill of Materials
The PantherPro/46 image recorder is shipped with the following items necessary for
installation:

Line Cord (110V Domestic Only)
Supply Cassette
Take-Up Cassette
Operator Documentation
SCSI Cable (RIP to Recorder)

5-2 Pre-Installation Procedure
5-2.1

Ensure that the site is large enough in square feet to accommodate unpacking, 
installation, future service and final machine location before unpacking the unit.

5-2.2 

Inspect all shipping cartons for any apparent damage; note any damages on 
installation report.

5-2.3 

Remove equipment from shipping cartons. Verify contents against Bill of 
Materials and Customer Order Form. Note any missing items on installation 
report. Items missing and checked as packed should be ordered through 
MOCP. Items missing and back ordered should not be ordered through MOCP.

5-2.4 

Inspect equipment for any physical damage. Note any damage on installation 
report.

5-2.5 

Remove the shipping foam and plastic tie wraps from the gate transport area. 
Also check for factory final copy. This sample should be compared with copy 
quality after unpacking and setup.

Note: Refer to the Panther Preinstallation Guide for additional information.

5-3 Electrical Requirements
Step 1.

Verify that the AC outlet to be used meets PrePRESS Solutions' electrical 
requirements. (Refer to Section 2 of this manual for electrical requirements.)

Step 2. 

If the outlet meets the electrical specifications, continue with the installation.
