Active Screen
When the measured ambient air temperature is equal to or greater than the trigger temperature
which has been set by the user, the Platypus Sprinkler Controller will become active.
The active screen shows which devices are operating on the left side of the screen. The trigger
temperature is displayed in blue on the top right of the screen and the ambient air temperature
is displayed in blue below the trigger temperature. Below this is displayed the run time in
minutes and the run time remaining.
Becoming active means,
•
A 15 second alarm will sound, warning the system will be switched on.
•
An SMS message will be sent to the selected mobile telephone (if the phone functions
are installed)
•
Once the 15 second alarm ceases all installed devices will be activated.
•
All installed devices will remain active for the run time period, as set by the user in the
Cycle Times option on the System Settings Menu.
•
After the run time period has elapsed all installed devices will be de-activated for the
pause period, as set by the user in the Cycle Times option on the System Settings Menu.
•
At the end of the pause period the ambient air temperature will be measured and again
compared to the preset trigger temperature.
If the measured ambient air temperature is equal to or greater than the trigger temperature
minus five degrees which has been set by the user, the Platypus Sprinkler Controller will again
become active.
Once the ambient air temperature is five(5) degrees less than the trigger temperature, the
Platypus Controller will return to the home screen.
If the STOP button on the ACTIVE screen is touched, the Platypus Controller will cease all
pumping operations and will switch to MANUAL mode.
Manual mode of operation means the Platypus Sprinkler Controller will no longer
respond automatically to temperatures above the set trigger point.
This will be indicated in red at the bottom of the Home screen. To revert to automatic operation
the user will need to go to the Auto/Manual screen to switch back to AUTO mode. If the phone
functions are enabled an SMS with the word "Auto" can be sent to the Platypus Controller.
