Mini300plus
A p p l e Talk networking protocol is used on computers that utilize MacOS
version 8 or later. While AppleTalk can be used on standard Ethernet or Fast
Ethernet networks, it also works with a slower protocol called "LocalTalk
transport".
When printing from a Macintosh client, only PostScript printers are
supported by the print server. Printers with no PostScript support cannot be
used with the print server.
The default configuration of the print server only supports print data in the
ASCII format. Follow the steps below if you wish too print binary data:
1. Start Smart Print Manager 3.
2. In the Mini300plus Properties screen, select the AppleTalk tab.
3. Set “Data Format” to either “TBCP” or “BCP”.
Note:
When attaching a printer to the parallel port on the print server, the name of
the port will be used as the "Chooser" name of the printer. Verify that this
port name is not used by any of the remaining printers on the entire
AppleTalk network.
