Troubleshooting
Inco rr ect o p e r ations a r e often mistaken fo r t r ouble and malfunctions. If you think that the r e is something w r ong with
this com p onent, check the p oints below. Sometimes the t r ouble may lie in anothe r com p onent. Investigate the othe r
com p onents and elect r ical a pp liances being used. If the t r ouble cannot be r ectified even afte r exe r cising the checks
listed below, ask you r nea r est Pionee r autho r ized inde p endent se r vice com p any to ca rr y out r e p ai r wo r k.

• If the unit does not o p e r ate no r mally due to exte r nal effects such as static elect r icity disconnect the p owe r p lug
f r om the outlet and inse r t again to r etu r n to no r mal o p e r ating conditions.
Power
Symptom Remedy
The p owe r does not tu r n on. • Make su r e that the p owe r cable is p lugged in to an active p owe r outlet.
• T r y disconnecting f r om the p owe r outlet, then p lugging back in.
The r eceive r suddenly switches
off o r the PHASE CONTROL
indicato r blinks.
• Check that the r e a r e no loose st r ands of s p eake r wi r e touching the r ea r p anel o r anothe r set of
wi r es. If so, r e-attach the s p eake r wi r es, making su r e the r e a r e no st r ay st r ands.
• The r eceive r may have a se r ious pr oblem. Disconnect f r om the p owe r and call a Pionee r autho r ized
inde p endent se r vice com p any.
Du r ing loud p layback the
p owe r suddenly switches off.
• Tu r n down the volume.
• Lowe r the 63 Hz and 125 Hz equalize r levels in the
Manual MCACC setup
on p age 46.
• Switch on the digital safety featu r e. While holding down
HOME MENU
on the f r ont p anel, pr ess
 STANDBY/ON to set this r eceive r to the standby mode. Use
/
to select D.SAFETY  OFF  ,
and then use
/
to select 1 o r 2 (select D.SAFETY


to deactivate this featu r e). If the p owe r
switches off even with

switched on, tu r n down the volume. With

on, some featu r es may be
unavailable.

• T r y switching the r eceive r off, then back on again.
• T r y disconnecting the p owe r cable, then connect again.
AMP ERR blinks in the dis p lay,
then the p owe r automatically
switches off. The
MCACC
blinks and the p owe r does not
tu r n on.
• The r eceive r may have a se r ious pr oblem. Do not t r y switching the r eceive r on. Contact a Pionee r
autho r ized inde p endent se r vice com p any fo r hel p .
FAN STOP blinks in the
dis p lay, then the p owe r
automatically switches off and

indicato r blinks.
• Something is obst r ucting the fan. Remove the obst r uction and t r y switching the r eceive r back on.
If the fan is still not wo r king, o r you can’t r emove the object, un p lug the r eceive r f r om the wall and
call a Pionee r autho r ized inde p endent se r vice com p any.
• The fan is malfunctioning. Un p lug the r eceive r f r om the wall and call a Pionee r autho r ized
inde p endent se r vice com p any.
OVERHEAT

• Allow the unit to cool down in a well-ventilated p lace befo r e switching back on.
• Wait at least 1 minute, then t r y tu r ning the p owe r on again.

12V TRG ERR
. • An e rr o r has a r isen in the 12 V t r igge r jacks. Reconnect accu r ately then tu r n the p owe r back on.
