Using schedule files

Note It is not necessary for satellite lock to continue
uninterrupted, because the MTU-TXC internal clock
stays synchronized with UTC for several hours even if
satellite lock is temporarily lost.
If an instrument has been moved a great distance
since it last achieved satellite lock (as will be the case
with most new units), it can take up to 60min to
acquire the necessary four satellite signals.
Using schedule files
Schedule files must be saved in the MTU-TXC \DATA
directory. You can create the tables in a text editor or
spreadsheet program and save them as Comma
Separated Values (.csv) files. You can also create text
files in V6-A (.fst) format. (Refer to the V6-A User
Guide for instructions.) You must then convert the files
to binary format and transfer them to the MTU-TXC.
Finally, when the MTU-TXC is running, use the Phoenix
Raw Parameter Table Interface to choose which
schedule to activate.
Creating a frequency schedule file
A frequency schedule file can contain from 5 to 100
lines. Each line must contain:
•
The waveform type.
• The frequency.
• The requested current, if controlling a T-200 current
source (zero for other current sources).
• The end-time of transmission for that frequency,
relative to the start of the schedule.
All items on the line must be separated by a comma.
This is most easily achieved in a spreadsheet program
such as Excel, using the Save as CSV function.
However, a simple text editor such as Notepad can also
be used if you remember to insert the commas
yourself.
To create a frequency schedule file:
1. Launch Excel (or your preferred software).
