EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION
To Assemble the Media Tank:
1. Stand the tank up and in position.
2. If the floor under the media tank is uneven, level as needed.
Install the Valve Head:
1. Remove the cap plug from the tank.
2. Lubricate the riser pipe o-ring and tank o-ring with the Dow
®
111 silicone-based lubricant or equivalent.
3. Attach the supplied upper basket to the bottom of the control valve; twist to lock in place. Do not use if water contains any
amount of iron.
4. Align the upper basket with the riser pipe and slowly lower the control valve onto the riser pipe using a twisting motion.
5. Align the control valve with the tank. Push down on the control valve and continue to turn clockwise until the valve o-ring
seals against the tank.
A bypass valve system is installed on all water softening systems. Bypass valves isolate the softener from the water system and
allow unsoftened water to be used. Service or routine maintenance procedures may also require that the system is bypassed.
Install the 1" NPT yoke as shown.

BYPASS VALVE
Do not over tighten the valve to the tank. The media tank contains loose particles that will shift. If the tank is
turned upside down or laid back quickly, the particles may enter the valve. If this happens, the valve may need to be
disassembled and cleaned.
