DEWAXING AND PRESERVATION IN OPERATION
Dewaxing – on Delivery from the Manufacturer (replacement parts, after repair, etc.)
Unpack APU and the accessory devices. Verify identity according to assembly document. Wash the external
surfaces, if they are preserved, with petrol – protect the conductors and other components of electric installation
against penetration of petrol. Rub the washed parts dry.
Flush accessories of the Fuel System with clean aviation fuel.
Install the APU and devices of accessories on the airplane according to the airplane producer instructions.
Remove the blinding plugs during mounting stepwise, so that the apertures would not stay open in vain.
Perform other work related to activation in accordance with Article 4.4 "Activation".
Dewaxing after 3 Months Preservation, Performed In-Operation.
During restoration into flight operation, it is necessary to the drain off the preservative liquid from the preserved
devices and flush twice the Fuel System with fuel, i.e. to perform 2 APU starts without the ignition function
lasting 13 sec.
After a longer storage exceeding 3 minutes, it is recommended to perform cleaning of filter elements of Block of
filter and servo 490740. 01 , Oil filter 490131.01 and Filter in Oil tank devices after dewaxing.
It is recommended to perform this operation also after performing an airplane test-flight at the final
Manufacturer
.
First Actuation of APU
Perform according to Article 4.4.1.
Preservation Valid for 30 Days
During an interruption of flight operation or in case of airplane preservation, APU must be put into operation at least
once in a month for 2 minutes in the Idling Mode.
The preservation is valid for 30 days.
If it is not possible to perform regular APU turning according to the above text during longer interruption of flight
operation, perform internal preservation valid for3 months after 1 month according to Article 5.5.

The preservation is performed without dismounting APU and accessory devices from the airplane by the following
method:
Supply preservative (operating oil used in the APU Oil System) under pressure of 90 ±20 kPa to the APU Fuel
System input, i.e. before the Filter and Servo Block.
Fill the oil tank with applicable lubricating oil up to the "MAX" mark.
Perform cold start of APU (without ignition function) – duration of operation: 13 sec.
Purity and quality of the preservative liquids must fulfill the specifications of the applicable standards.
Validity of the preservation lasts 3 months

After elapsing of this time, the for 3 months preservation can be repeated once.
