4 RU SSPA Chassis Operations Manual

The integrated web server loads a web page and a Java Applet. The activity indicator
will be visible until the applet is loaded and running. Once the applet is fully loaded, a
password dialog window will appear. The default password is

paradise

. This password

may be changed in the Communication Settings tab of the user interface, and may
comprise up to 15 alpha-numeric characters.

The Java Applet uses a UDP socket to communicate with the SSPA. If you are using a
hardware or software firewall, it will need notification that the Applet is authorized. If the
firewall is not notified, the UDP packets will be blocked.

The SSPA Monitor and Control application shows the connection status of the device,
its mute state, online status, attenuation and temperature. It also displays the device’s
model number and serial number, firmware version, IP address, MAC address, and
Network address.

Additional information is displayed on the various links within the M&C application.
These links include tabs for Status and Faults, Communication Settings, General
Settings and Fault Settings.

•

Status and Faults

: A view of critical device operational parameters including

Output Power, Power Supply voltages and current, and fault statuses. A red
indicator light is displayed when a fault condition occurs; a green indicator
light indicates no fault condition is present.

•

Communication Settings

: Read/Write listing of all communication-related

parameters including IP settings, SNMP settings, serial interface selection,
serial protocol selection, baud rate selection and web password assignment.

•

General Settings

: Read/Write listing of all redundancy and amplifier-specific

settings such as the device’s mute setting, audible alarm setting, fan speed,
attenuation and network address.

•

Fault Settings

: Read/Write listing of all fault-related settings. These include

AUX fault handling, fault latch enable/disable, BUC fault handling and fault
threshold settings.

Only one web browser should be connected at any time. If a second browser connects
to the same SSPA Web Interface, service quality cannot be assured.
