11.2 Serial (Per Start) / Serial (Async.) 

When PV310 communicates with the external device through "Serial (Per Start)” or “Serial (Async.)“, you can set a 
communication method, output data and format for output data or a command received from the external device. To 
do so, select “ENVIRONMENT” > "Data Output Settings" > "General Output", and “ENVIRONMENT” > "Serial 
Communication" from the menu bar. 

11.2.1  Selecting and Setting the Output Data to the External Device 

Select “ENVIRONMENT” > “Data Output Settings” > “General Output” from the menu bar to choose outputting 
setting and outputting data.

11.2.2  Formats of the Commands from the External Device 

Select “ENVIRONMENT” > “Serial Communication” > “Command” to specify the format of receiving command. 
These formats are available only for the following commands; %L, %T, %H, %G, %C, %N

Fixed Length 

Separate a command into 4-digit data each. Do not insert a symbol to 
separate each item. 

Unused Digits: To determine what is specified as unused digits if each item of the commands is less than 4 digits 
when “Fixed Length” is specified. 

Filled with 
"Blanks" 

If the digit number of each item is less than 4, the unused digits are replaced 
with "Blanks". 

 

Filled with "0" 

If the digit number of each item is less than 4, the unused digits are filled with
