1.2 Camera

1.2.1 Camera Type and Precautions for Use

Camera Type

PV310 provides three types of cameras listed below. Choose to use them depending on your usage. To use a
corresponding camera mode to a camera type you use, you need to change the setting with PV310. For further
information, refer to Chapter 5.2 Selecting a Camera Mode (page 57).

Camera Type

Precautions for Use

Camera and camera cables

•

Use only cameras, camera cables, and extension cables with the proper product numbers specified by
Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. Otherwise, malfunction and damage might cause in PV310 and the
cameras.

•

Do not connect different types of cameras to PV310 at the same time.
You cannot connect, for instance, a standard camera to CAMERA 1 port and an ultra compact camera to
CAMERA 2 port.

•

Do not splice multiple extension cables.

Handling Instructions

•

Do not touch the CCD element or the lens surface of the camera. Attach the lens cap to keep off dust
when not in use.

•

When inserting/removing the cable into/from the connector, be sure to hold it by its plug to prevent excess
force applying on the cable. Also, do not bend the cables forcedly.

•

Do not touch the terminals inside the connector of cameras and camera cables and take care not to allow
foreign objects to come into the connectors.
