Connection of a cascade system

On heating systems with more than one heat pump (cascade) and control via communication, 

the second and third heat pumps require a further HPM2 controller as slave controller and a 

matching adapter cable. All HPM controllers are furthermore connected with a network cable to 

the Ethernet switch. The network cable and switch are not part of the scope of delivery.

During commissioning (→ 

Commissioning, P. 65

) of a cascade system, the steps must be 

performed in the following sequence:

 

►

Load system diagram via WEB interface or USB interface (with respective 

software) in the slave controller.
In doing so, the IP address changes.

 

►

Load system diagram in master controller.
Its IP address does not change relative to the original one on delivery.

 

►

Connect all HPM controllers to the Ethernet switch.

When loading the system diagram, the functions of the HPM controllers are 

adjusted to the respective system setup and the fixed IP addresses are also set.

The following fixed IP addresses are set for the master controller and slave controller during the 

configuration of a cascade.
