Cascade – HP 1

On heating systems with more than one heat pump (cascade), the first heat pump (HP1) is

connected via terminals 9 and 12 with the “Room thermostat” function, if the heat pump is also

to generate domestic hot water. Otherwise it is connected to terminals 17 and 18
Heat pump 1 is used in this case primarily to control the domestic hot water tank: Loading times

of the tank, control of the 3-way valve and the feed flow set points depend on the settings that

the user entered on the control panel of the heat pump.

Therefore, the 3-way valve and the temperature sensor for the domestic hot water tank

must be connected to the heat pump

Cascade – HP2 and HP3

On heating systems with more than one heat pump (cascade) the second and third heat pumps

(HP2 and HP3) are connected via terminals 17 and 18 with the “External control signal/remote

switch” function.
These heat pumps are used in a cascade system exclusively for heating.
