System Maintenance
This chapter provides maintenance and replacement procedures of replaceable components of
your PAC Storage PS 2000 Series.
Replaceable Components
Your PS 2000 system is comprised of replaceable components:
•
PSU/Cooling Module
•
Controller Module
•
Memory Module
•
Cache Backup Module (CBM)
•
Host Board
•
Hard Disk Drives
WARNING!
•
DO NOT remove a defective component from the system until you have the replacement
on hand. Doing so may disrupt the internal airflow.
•
Consult with the qualified engineers who are familiar with the system to recommend the
correct component replacements.
•
DO NOT use excessive force when installing a replaceable module. Forced installation of
the module can damage the connector pins of the system, the module, or the internal
backplane.
Replacing the PSU/Cooling Module
Replace the defective PSU/cooling module immediately, but only if you have the replacement.
WARNING!
Although the system can still operate with a defective PSU/cooling module, it is not
recommended to use it for an extended period of time.
NOTE:
For more information, contact your system vendor.
To replace the PSU/Cooling Module:
1. Shut the system down, turn the PSU/cooling module off, then unplug the power cord.
2. Loosen the thumb screw that secures the extraction handle to the chassis.
