11.
Before starting the engine, ensure that the chain does not come into
contact with anything.
12.
Always carry the chainsaw with the engine switched off and with the
guide bar pointed behind you and keep the muffler away from your body.
13.
Always inspect the chainsaw before use. Check for worn, loose, or
damaged parts. Never use the machine if it is damaged, incorrectly
adjusted or not completely assembled. Ensure that the chain stops when
the throttle handle is released.
14.
Maintenance tasks that are not named in this user manual must be
carried out by an authorised professional specialist.
15.
Always switch off the engine before laying down the chainsaw.
16.
Exercise extreme caution when sawing into small, young trees as the slim
material can become trapped in the chain and whipped up towards you
or cause you to lose balance.
17.
When cutting into wood that is under tension, be prepared for the spring
effect to ensure that you are not struck when the stressed wood fibres are
released.
18.
Never use the chainsaw in hard wind, poor weather, when there is poor
visibility or at very high or very low temperatures. Always check the tree
for dead branches, which can fall while the tree is being felled.
19.
Ensure that the handles are dry and free of any remnants of fuel/oil.
20.
Only use the chainsaw in well ventilated areas. Never start or use the
chainsaw in an enclosed space or building or in an explosive atmosphere.
The engine’s exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is toxic.
21.
Do not use the chainsaw for the felling of trees unless you have been
specially trained to do this.
22.
Avoid kickback. Kickback is the term used to describe sudden upwards
movement of the chainsaw when the guide bar tip comes into contact
with something. Kickback can cause you to lose control of the chainsaw.
23.
When the chainsaw is transported, ensure that the guide bar is covered
with the guide bar cover.
24.
Never touch the cover, guide bar, chain or nuts with bare hands while the
engine is running or immediately after it has been switched off. There is a
risk of serious burns because of high temperatures.
