1.
Pull the guard towards the front handle to ensure that the chain brake is not engaged.
2.
Loosen the nuts and remove the chain cover.
3.
Adjust the saw chain on the guide bar and fit the guide bar to the machine. Adjust the
chain tension nut on the chain cover to the bottom hole on the guide bar.
NOTICE: Pay attention to the saw chain’s direction of rotation:

Put the chain cover on the power unit and tighten the nuts by hand.
5.
Lift the guide bar while tightening the chain by turning the tension screw until the
chain links are in contact with the guide bar’s bottom edge.
6.
Tighten the nuts securely (12–15 Nm) with the guide bar tip held up. Check by hand
that the chain has smooth rotation and proper tension while moving it by hand. If
necessary, readjust with the chain cover loose.
7.
Tighten the tension screw.
NOTICE: The length of a new chain will be longer in the beginning. Check and
adjust the tension regularly as a loose chain can come off or cause abnormal
wear to both the chain and the guide bar.
