Equipment
•
Always inspect the equipment before use. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts
before taking the equipment into use. Check for leaks and loose bolts and tighten if
necessary.
•
Never modify the equipment and only use original spare parts.
•
Always check the chain’s tension before using the equipment and also when topping
up with fuel. The chain expands with use, especially when being run in. Using a
chainsaw with a slack chain is dangerous.
•
Never allow the chain to hit something. If the chain hits something, stop the chainsaw
and inspect the equipment for damage. Replace damaged parts before using the
equipment again.
•
Ensure that the automatic lubrication functions. Ensure the oil tank is full with clean
chain oil. Never allow the chain to operate dry on the guide bar.
•
Maintenance of the chainsaw that is not described in this user manual must be carried
out at an authorised workshop.
Safe use of the chainsaw
•
Never transport the chainsaw while the chain is operating, not even if it is only for a
very few steps. Activate the chain brake. Over longer distances completely switch off
the chainsaw and put the guide bar cover on the guide bar and carry the chainsaw
horizontally and ensure the hot muffler is kept away from you and hold the chainsaw
so that the guide bar is pointed behind you.
•
Only use the chainsaw to cut wood.
•
When cutting wood that has been treated with insecticide, wear a NIOSH filter mask to
protect respiratory passages and stop the chainsaw immediately if children, animals or
unauthorised persons approach.
•
Always keep a secure grip of the chainsaw using both hands, with your thumb
wrapped around the front handle. Always hold the chainsaw with your right hand
holding the rear handle and your left hand holding the front handle.
•
Never use the chainsaw with one hand.
•
Always ensure that you have a firm footing and good balance. Stay in a stable position
and never attempt to extend your reach by stretching.
•
Keep the muffler and saw chain away from all parts of the body while the engine is
running. Keep the guide bar/chain at hip height.
•
Always stand to one side of the saw when sawing. Never stand directly behind it.
•
Ensure that you have a safe route to retreat from the tree as it falls before you begin
sawing and exercise extreme caution with kickback. Never saw using the tip of the
guide bar.
•
Use only approved accessories, cf. the technical specifications. Incorrect accessories
can lead to dangerous situations, serious accidents and damage to the machine and
property.
Handling fuel safely
•
Mix the fuel and fill with fuel outdoors in surroundings free of sparks and flames. Use
suitable containers for the storage of fuel.
