FPG1/A FRONT PANEL
The FPG1/A Front Panel is the radio remote control that integrates all of the user
interface and accessories interface functions. The structure of the Front Panel is
shown in Fig. 2.15.

The Front Panel contains three boards (logic + display board, keyboard board and
interface board). On the rear panel it supports three type D connectors to the radio
unit module, loudspeaker, microphone and peripheral equipment. On the front
panel there are two rotary knobs (for volume and group selection) and two LEDs
(indicating transmission and reception status).

Control panel architecture
The following boards are contained in the control panel:

The keyboard, located under the display, provides connection for the 25 keys
of the front side of the front panel, and supports the hands-free microphone
(which is located on the board itself); a flex connector collects the signals
coming from the switches (volume and group selectors) and the connectors
for audio accessories and PEI (located on the front panel) towards the Logic +
display board;
