2.3. System Components
The uses a Windows 10-based Host computer installed with OPEX
software for controlling the machine functions, and to provide a graphical user
interface for the operator. Items are scanned based on Job and Page Type
configuration. The scanner can capture MICR and OCR information, print audit
trails and can sort to a specified bin as configured per Job.
2.3.1. Software
The uses two software applications to control the scanner:
CertainScan:
The Operator Interface to select a configured Job to run, and the
interface for managers to configure Jobs, configure Page Types, maintain
operators, and manage the OPEX scanner.

Job:
A Job defines all the scan actions. Jobs are configured by selecting
Page Types and defining Job parameters (Batch, Image Capture, Sorting,
etc.). When selecting a Job to run, scanned items are automatically matched
to Page Types in the Job and all metadata is captured as configured.

Page Type:
A Page Type is the term used to describe the various types of
items to scan (folders, documents, checks, envelopes, etc.). A Page Type
is configured by defining qualifiers and parameters (Barcode, MICR, Mark
Detect, etc.). As Page Types are configured and saved, they are available
to select when configuring a Job.

Document Separation:
CertainScan provides four levels of item separation
when scanning. The terms used for item separation are based on the
CertainScan Customer Type selected:
- Service Bureau terms: Batch > Set > Group > Page
- Remittance terms: Batch > Transaction > Group > Page
INtime Controller:
This software runs in the background and launches when
first launching CertainScan. Intime controls all scanner-related mechanical
functions. There is no need to access the INtime controller. INtime should never
be closed when using CertainScan.
