3.11. Run a Job and Scan Items

Log on to CertainScan and select a Job to run based on the items to scan.

Press
Go
on the Run screen. The conveyor rollers will begin turning.

Place the first item onto the conveyor as shown in Figure 3-26. The item will
feed through the scanner and display a thumbnail image in the run screen
and a larger image of the item will appear in the Image Viewer window.

4. Continue to place items onto the conveyor. The scanner will scan and sort
the items based on the configured Job parameters.
3.11.1. Stack Feeding
Stacks of paper up to approximately 1.1 inches (2.7 cm) in height can be
placed on the conveyor. The conveyor rollers will carry the stack to the feeder
where the top piece will be pulled off the stack and fed into the scanner. The
feeder will continue to pull from the top of the stack until the last page is fed.
When feeding a stack of paper, the conveyor stops to feed the entire stack.
Additional stacks of paper can be placed on the conveyor when stopped. As
the feeder pulls from the top of the stack, the lead sheet in the stack must be
the first to reach the feeder. If the bottom piece reaches the feeder first, a
paper misfeed is likely to occur.
Note:
The conveyor operates differently depending on the Feed Mode setting:
Normal, Stack, Passive. Stack feeding can be accomplished in either Stack or
Normal modes. Height sensors come into effect in Stack mode.
