13.7.4 Cable Analysis
For the analysis of a cable dielectric layer, select the test type Cylindrical electrode without Guard ring in
the
SPECTANO Analyzer Suite
software. Please note, that according to measurement accuracy,
repeatability or reporting for cables, different international standards are valid. The standards described
in this document are only valid for the analysis of dielectric and resistive properties of solid and liquid
insulating materials.
13.8 Other geometries
Select ‘Other geometries’ in the
SPECTANO
Analyzer Suite software in case of
•
Using for example
o
Unsymmetrical electrode arrangements
o
Non-contacting electrode arrangements
o
Finger electrodes
o
Sensors used for the determination of dielectric parameter as permittivity, t
anδ,
capacitance, relative or electrical conductivity etc.
o
Customized setups which cannot be covered with the symmetrical electrodes
•
Analyzing, for example, the dielectric parameters of electronic components or HV --
components as rotor/stator bars.
13.8.1 Vacuum capacitance c
0
For the selection ‘Other geometries’ the vacuum capacitance c
0
will not be calculated automatically.
There are two possibilities how to determine the vacuum capacitance of your measurement setup:
1. Calculation
2. Measurement using a LC meter or the
SPECTANO 100
For the measurement you can use the
SPECTANO 100
and the
SPECTANO
Analyzer Suite. Perform a
measurement with an inserted solid or liquid material sample.
Therefore,
1. Add a measurement to your
SPECTANO 100
Analyzer Suite file
2. Name the added measurement ‘c
0
determination’.
3. Start the ‘c0 determination’ measurement
4. Perform a .csv export
5. Determine c
0
= Average of c’(f)
6. Enter the determined c
0
result into the
SPECTANO 100
Analyzer Suite file which you have
created for the analysis of your material.
