Feature #22 Steady Siren or Pulsed Horn Output
(Factory Default Setting Steady Siren)
This feature allows the choice using of the vehicle's horn for the audible
output of the security system instead of the electronic siren. When pro-
grammed for use with a vehicular horn, this output pulses for 10 seconds,
then pauses for 5 seconds, repeating this cycle for the duration of the acti-
vated alarm period. In some cases, an optional relay is needed to utilize this
feature. When set for use with the electronic siren, the output is continuous
and steady.
Programming Steady Siren or Pulsed Horn Output:
Follow Steps 1 to 4 on page 24; at Step 4 the Valet Switch will be pressed
and released twenty two times. The system’s response will be twenty two
siren chirps, and the Status Light flashing twenty two times, pausing, then
repeating. Within 10 seconds, press and release the transmitter’s "Arm/
Lock" button to turn on the steady siren output (the horn or siren will chirp
once) or the "Disarm/Unlock" button to turn on pulsed horn output (the horn
or siren will chirp twice).
Feature #23 Soft or Loud Horn Confirmation Chirps
(Factory Default Setting Soft)
If the system is configured to use the vehicle's horn, this feature allows
a degree of compensation for the variance which is found in the length of
the pulse required to chirp the vehicle's horn in a satisfactory manner. This
feature is only available for use when the previous feature is programmed
for the "Pulsed Horn" setting.
Programming the Chirp Confirmation:
Follow Steps 1 to 4 on page 24; at Step 4 the Valet Switch will be pressed
and released twenty three times. The system’s response will be twenty three
siren chirps, and the Status Light flashing twenty three times, pausing, then
repeating. Within 10 seconds, press and release the transmitter’s "Arm/
Lock" button to turn the loud horn chirp confirmation on (the horn or siren
will chirp once) or the "Disarm/Unlock" button to turn the soft chirp
confirmation on (the horn or siren will chirp twice).
