 LVD-SCSI-2 Port Configuration

The standard 68-pin LVD-SCSI-2 port connects the printer to selected platforms.
Contact Océ Display Graphics Systems for information on platform compatibility.

The printer uses a standard 68-pin SCSI-2 data cable. The length limit over this
cable is 40 feet (12 meters). Use the ultra SCSI settings under this menu to support/
enhance the transfer speed of your existing platform when printing to the Arizona
T220 printer. The SCSI cable length may need to be reduced when enabling this
setting. Watch for error messages generated by the printer or host computer.

1. Press the

MENU

 button at

MAIN MENU CONFIGURE I/O.

2. Press

MENU

 at

CONFIGURE I/O active: parallel.

3. Press +. You then see:

CONFIGURE I/O

active: SCSI

4. Press the

ACCEPT

button to select the SCSI port option, and press

ACCEPT

. You then see:

SCSI PORT

SCSI address: X

5. This option specifies a two-digit SCSI address that identifies the printer to

the host system.

6. Press

ACCEPT

to accept the current address, or use the +/- buttons to

enter the correct address (1-7), and then press

ACCEPT

.

You can also navigate to the timeout option and the other SCSI port menus by
pressing the

MENU

 button.

When you specify the SCSI address, you then see:

SCSI Port
timeout XXX seconds

This option enables you to specify a time period in seconds (1-600) to wait before
initiating printing. This delay may be required if the software sending the print job
does not use a PRINT command. If the printer seems to hang during a transfer,
adjust this value. The recommended setting is 60 seconds.

If your software uses a PRINT command, the timeout value is ignored. Use the
+/- keys to adjust to the desired timeout period, press ACCEPT to enter value and
navigate to the next menu.

Note:

NEVER connect or disconnect SCSI cables with the printer powered
On. Powered connections can make printer hard drives unusable.
