Duplex Mode Logical View - Multi-TID SAN Attach Dual Switch Connection
This Multi-TID SAN topology provides the most robust high-performance active-
active RAID storage solution for multiple host systems with dual Fibre ports.
It offers advantages of full solution level fault-tolerance, high access,
high-performance, redundant switches, supports upstream path failover, no
single point of failure when using clustering and path failover software, and it
provides shared storage.
It’s disadvantages are third party failover software is required when upstream
path failover is implemented, and it requires dual HBA’s in each host and dual
switches.
In this configuration the Host I/O card switches 4 and 5 are set to the “off”
position. This will isolates each Host I/O port and host controller port.
