1.1 Description of the NION-SPB
The NION-SPB (Network Input Output Node) is the interface used to connect Vista 128B, 128FB or 120 panels to
the UniNet™ network. All of the system components are based on LonWorks™ (Local Operating Network) tech-
nologies. The NION-SPB provides transparent or interpreted communications between the Workstation and control
panels. Unless otherwise noted, full control capabilities are available for each interface. Check specific connec-
tions for details.
The NION connects two LonWorks™ networks and provides a single, two-way communication channel for data
when connected to a Vista Gateway module. The LonWorks™ network interface used by the NION-SPB accepts
an FTXC style transceiver, which is sold separately.
The NION mounts in a NISCAB-1 enclosure (sold separately) with conduit knockout.
