5. From the plug-in, right click on the VGM represented in the tree
and select Enroll from the pop-up menu. The VGM NION will
then establish communication with the connected VGM. After
the enroll command completes, left-click on the VGM entry on
the tree to refresh the display. The Status and Neuron ID
properties of the VGM will be updated in the plug-in window to
reflect a successful enrollment. Refer to Figure 2-6 to see an
example of what an enrolled VGM NION looks like.
6. IMPORTANT: If more VGM NIONs are to be added to the
network, any previously bound VGM NIONs and VGMs
must first be disconnected from the network before adding the new VGM(s). This can be done
by powering them down or removing their Echelon connection.
When new VGM NIONs are bound at the Server, they must be incremented in two’s, e.g., if the
first VGM is Node 1, the next one must be defined as Node 3, then Node 5, etc.
7. Once bound VGMs are disconnected, repeat steps one through six for all additional VGMs.
8. Reconnect all bound VGM NIONs and VGMs to the network.
9. For each VGM NION, the system administrator must configure the keypad address and user ID in the
plug-in before the system can be used. See section 2.6.
