2.4 Launching the VGM Explorer
To launch the VGM Explorer, the user must first be running the Workstation and have at least one VGM NION-
related device icon created on a graphics screen. For assistance in device creation, see section 3.4.3 in the
Workstation Manual. To launch the plug-in, simply right click on the VGM NION device icon, then select VGM
Explorer from the pop-up menu. The application will load and appear on the screen within a few seconds.

There are four ways to direct the VGM NION to send commands to the Vista Gateway Modules:
1. Right-click device icon popup menus at the Workstation
2. User-defined macros in the Workstation
3. UniLogic
4. Right-click popup menus at the VGM plug-in (from the VGM Explorer screen)
2.5 VGM NION Features
• The VGM NION supports one Vista Gateway Module used to interface to one Vista panel.
• Vista panels supported are the Vista 128B, Vista 128FB, and Vista 120.
NOTE: These are what the icons look like when the Workstation
autocreates them. They can be modified and customized by the
site administrator. For details, consult the Workstation manual.
