Modifying and Upgrading the CMTS 1000

Step #3: Ensure Devices Can Communicate with the TFTP Server

Reset each device before attempting to upgrade to verify the following:

• Connection to the TFTP server

• Correctness of the configuration database information

• Configuration parameters haven’t changed since last reboot

To reset a device using SNMP:

Select the device.

Select the DocsDev MIB Object ID.

Select the Docs_Base MIB Object ID.

Change the True/False selection of the ResetNow MIB to True.

Press the Set button.

The cable modem or Cable Modem Termination System will reset.

Using the TFTP server’s visual display, ensure that the cable modem device
is served its configuration file.
