CMTS 1000 Installation Manual V1.2

lcMulticastGroup

lcMulticastGroup is the menu heading for a category of MIB variable
groups. These groups reside under additional MIB group sub-headings.

lcMulticastGroupInfo

The following paragraphs include the SNMP Syntax (Set/Get Response
and/or Status) and a general description of the status entry for each MIB
variable in the lcMulticastGroupInfo table.

pass(1), discard(2), igmp(3), trap(4)

Description:

Action to take on receiving an IP multicast
packet bound for the subscriber network. If
pass(1), the CM acts as a bridge, transpar-
ently forwarding all multicast packets. If fil-
ter(2), all IP multicast packets are discarded.
If igmp(3) then the CM acts as an IGMP
proxy and only forwards packets whose
addresses were requested by the subscriber. If
trap(4) then the CM transmits IGMP queries
on the subscriber side. On receiving Reports,
it transmits an SNMP trap. Multicast packets
are forwarded, and presumably blocked by
SNMP-managed filters.
