The following sections describe the general parameter setting procedures.
36.1 Menu Measure Place
The >Measure Place< submenu is one of the most relevant basic menus when it comes to
setting parameters.
The parameter set of a measurement place contains basic settings for:

Name of measurement place
•
Type and dimensions of channel profile
•
Possible solid sediments settings (sludge level)
•
Low-flow suppression
•
Measurement damping and stability
36.1.1 Name of Measurement Place
This is where you can set the name of the measurement place.
Default setting: “NIVUS1”.
The default name is deleted automatically as soon as the first character of the new meas-
urement place name is entered.

Type the desired name of the measurement place into the text field and confirm with
“Enter”. The name will be accepted and is shown in the main screen.
36.1.2 Channel Profiles
The transmitter allows selecting from a wide variety of standardised channel profiles mainly
used in practice.
Since particularly older channel systems often have special shapes, the transformer moreo-
ver provides the option to enter dimensions or heights/areas of symmetric and asymmetric
channels in tables.
The profile chosen is shown as graph in the 3D preview box if selected. To indicate the graph
the dimensions entered are set in relation to one another.
This visual control is important to instantly see whether the profile has been basically created
correctly. Particularly for free profiles this kind of direct verification is helpful.
