LEVEL CONTROL (continued)
Can't adjust setpoints or calibration:
"locked up"
1. Turn unit off, then on to reset processor in
controller.
2. If happens repeatedly, call Customer Service.
Won’t hold calibration: Fyrite reading
varies but display is stable
1. Atmospheric pressure fluctuations.
2. Top of unit exposed to cold air drafts.
3. Unit being operated without electronics
compartment cover in place.
4. Condensation collecting on CO
2
sensor.
5. CO
2
sensor or interface failure.
6. Unit incorrectly calibrated.
7. Taking Fyrite reading too soon after the door
has been opened.
8. Air leak around CO
2
sensor mounting plate.
HUMIDITY LEVEL CONTROL
Can't achieve desired humidity level
1. Door opened recently or too frequently.
2. Humidity pan empty.
3. Access port not plugged.
4. Poor glass door seal.
5. Motor shaft seal missing or damaged.
6. Water in humidity pan contaminated.
7. Display error.
Can’t decrease humidity
1. Display calibration error.
2. Hot water added to humidity pan.
Humidity unstable
1. Circulating fan failure: (a) motor failure or no
voltage to motor, (b) fan not turning, or (c) ducts
blocked
2. Relative humidity is lower than the unit can
achieve at that operating temperature.
3. Chamber leaks: (a) motor shaft seals, or (b)
door seal
Condensation in chamber
1. Small amount of condensation in chamber may
be normal depending on nature of test sample.
2. Water jacket too low or empty.
3. Power failure or unit was turned off for a while
without opening the door.
Condensate appears on chamber walls of
humidity chamber or CO
2
incubator
1. If condensate on steel, turn temperature control
on door counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
2. If condensate on glass door, turn temperature
control on door clockwise 1/4 turn.
3. Minimize the movement of air around the unit
and reduce the number of door openings.
MECHANICAL CONTROL
Motor doesn't move
1. If shaft spins freely: check connections to motor
and check voltage to motor.
2. If shaft rubs or is frozen, relieve binding and
retest.
