supply lines and connections can be checked for leaks with a liquid soap solution.
Apply liquid soap solution to all areas of the supply line and observe for bubbles that
will indicate a leak.
Keep the CO
2
flow system free of impurities. Erratic CO
2
control is usually traceable
to the CO
2
pressure regulator on the tank, impurities in the tank, or impurities in the
solenoid valve.
Replace the internal CO
2
inline filter twice annually or when the filter has become
noticeably dirty on the upstream side ( see Section 7.3 below ).
Replace the HEPA filter twice annually or when it has become noticeably dirty (
see
Section 7.4 below ).
No maintenance is required on the controls. If controls should fail to operate as
specified, please review Section 8,
Troubleshooting , prior to contacting customer
service.
7.3 Replacing the Internal CO
2
Filter
The CO
2
filter is located inside the electronics compartment, inline with the CO
2
tubing.
To replace the filter:
1. Turn the incubator off and unplug the power cord.
2. Turn off the CO
2
supply.
3. Remove the screws that hold the electronics compartment cover (on the top rear of
the unit) in place, reserving them for reuse.
4. Carefully lift off the cover and set it aside.
5. Disconnect the inline filter by removing the tie wraps and separating the tubing
from the filter’s hose barbs. Dispose of the filter according to any local standards.
6. Connect a new filter by pressing the tubing ends onto the filter’s inlet and outlet
(respecting the direction of flow, if so marked), and securing the tubing thoroughly
with tie wraps.
7. Put the cover back in place and reinstall the screws.
8. Plug in the power cord, turn on the CO
2
supply, and the unit is ready to run.
7.4 Replacing the HEPA Filter
The HEPA filter is easily removed and replaced, with no need for tools. The filter
snaps into a fixed coupling ring, mounted on the fan cover inside the incubator (
see
Figure 7 on the following page ).
