Figure 7: Replacing the HEPA Filter
To replace the filter:
1. Remove the old filter by firmly grasping it with two hands and pulling it straight
down. It will release downward, with a snap, from the coupling ring.
2. Install the new filter by firmly grasping it with two hands and pushing it straight up
until it snaps onto the coupling ring.
3. Dispose of the old filter responsibly, taking into account any local regulations
regarding such material.
7.5 Storage
If the incubator is to be turned off for any length of time, dry the chamber and
humidity pan thoroughly and leave everything at room temperature. Failure to do this
may cause the interior to become contaminated. If the unit has been prepped and
stored properly, no adjustment to controls should be required when you restart the unit.
If the unit is to be shut down for transport, follow the above-mentioned instructions:
disconnect the CO
2
supply, power supply, drain the water jacket ( see Section 5.13 ) and
screw in the leveling feet as far as they will go.
These units are heavy, so care should be taken to use appropriate lifting devices that are
sufficiently rated for these loads. Lift the units only from the bottom surface; doors,
handles and knobs are not adequate for lifting or for stabilization. Completely restrain
each unit from tipping during lifting or transport. Remove all movable parts, such as
shelves and trays. Lock the doors in the closed position during transfer to prevent
shifting and damage.
