Setup and Operation
This section provides setup and operation information for the NEC Versa series system
(including cabling, power-on verification and using the Setup utility, from this point on re-
ferred to as “Setup” only).
UNPACKING THE SYSTEM
Find an area away from devices that generate strong magnetic fields (electric motors, trans-
formers, etc.). Place the shipping carton on a sturdy surface and carefully unpack the sys-
tem. The carton contents include the system, CD-ROM reader, AC adapter, AC power
cord, battery, software CDs, and user documentation.
HARDWARE SETUP
When connecting power and signal cables, do the following.
NOTE
Always plug the AC adapter cord into an
easily accessible outlet.
1.
Connect the AC adapter cable to the power port on rear of the NEC Versa.
2.
Plug one end of the AC power cable into the AC adapter and the other end into a
properly grounded 120- or 240-volt wall outlet.
