Remote power-on feature
The remote power-on feature of ShieldPRO supports the recovery of ShieldPRO from suspend (standby),
hibernate or power-off state.
The ShieldPRO must be connected to AC power and not rely solely on battery operation for this feature.
To use the remote power-on feature by the LAN driver installed in ShieldPRO, the following settings
are required.
(1) Settings associated with BIOS Setup Menu
Power management - Wake On LAN/PME: Enabled
Security - Network Boot Setting - Keyboard/mouse Lock: Disabled
* Without the setting, keyboard and mouse operations are disabled at the remote computer.
(2) Settings associated with network adaptor
For Windows XP, the following settings are required.
For the advanced network configuration, click [Control Panel]
[Network Connections],
right-click [Local Area Connection], and click [Properties]
[Configure...].
For the power management settings, click [Control Panel]
[Network Connections], right-click
[Local Area Connection], and click [Properties]
[Configure...].

Check [Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby.].
Once these settings are implemented, it is possible for a network management computer to
remotely activate ShieldPRO over the LAN.
